General Info

Each year on August 28, the city of Groningen celebrates its liberation from the bishop of Munich, nick named "Bommen Berend". For a couple of years now, Bao Trieu / Blijd participates with a team in one of the team festivities, this year called "Ontzettende Spelen" ('liberating games'). This year, there were fun activities: pulling a truck as fast as the team could, "levend sjoelen", playing soccer in 2-persons pants, "sumo" wrestling (our favorite!), etc. Our team did well, but alas - others won just a few more points. Nevertheless, Bao Trieu was rewarded with the Price for the Most Beautiful Outfit, and -especially- for our very special "Joker": Sheng, our military hero from the Chinese Opera. The price we won: free water skiing in Harkstede.
