BAO TRIEU TRAINING WEEKEND 2000

Picture Report of SATURDAY | Picture Report of SUNDAY

The Work Out Weekend 2000 was very successful!! It was held in the weekend of 10, 11 June 2000.

About 90 participants from The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany were trained under inspiring guidance of quite a few guest trainers.

On Saturday, the training took place in the sporting facilities of 'Beatrix Oord' in Haren. Different fighting styles were practiced: Sanda, Thai boxing, Free fight (amongst which wrestling), Capoeira and of course different Wushu styles.

On Sunday, the Chinese Garden in the 'Hortus' in Haren was chosen to practice in different groups on different aspects of Chinese Martial Arts; for example: modern Wushu, Taiji, Taiji sword, Fan Forms, Grips and Locks, Bagua and the Lion Dance.

Each day was ended with a beautiful demonstration. Especially on Sunday, visitors came to the Hortus specifically to come and enjoy the demos. Rightfully so; the level of expertise the exhibition styles was high.

At the opening, the group of Lion Dance expert Jie Kon Sieuw showed why they recently won first prize at the European Lion Dance competition. Afterwards, pupils of Bao Trieu demonstrated a number of Wushu techniques; amongst which: Chinese Wrestling, Drunk Man Form and a beautiful Grasshopper Fight.

Greatly applauded was guest teacher Li Yanlong. First his six year old son displayed a beautiful Wushu Form. Then Li impressed the crowd with a spectacular Chain Form. What else would one expect from the Chinese National Champion of 1980?
